This year, Art Toronto will truly be Canada’s art fair. Looking beyond the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Art Toronto 2024 expands its virtual and physical footprint, featuring virtual exhibitions, curated collections, talks, tours and more; complemented by in-person programming in galleries across Canada.

Founded in 2000, Art Toronto is Canada’s international contemporary and modern art fair, located at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the city’s downtown core. Providing unique access to the Canadian art market, the fair is one of the most important annual art events in Canada. Now in its 23rd year, Art Toronto presents important artwork from leading Canadian and international galleries combined with PLATFORM, our engaging series of lectures and panel discussions from prominent art world figures, curated projects, an extensive VIP Program, and top-tier cultural offerings throughout the city.

As Canada’s cultural capital, Toronto is host to a diverse, cosmopolitan and sophisticated arts and culture community. The city is an important hub for theatre, performing and visual arts, with more than 125 public and commercial art galleries and museums. A nexus for theatre and filmmaking, Toronto boasts the world’s third most extensive English-language theatre offerings after New York and London and hosts the Toronto International Film Festival, North America’s largest and most important annual film event.

Toronto is home to Canada’s largest collecting institutions and exhibiting spaces, including the much celebrated Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, Textile Museum of Canada, Gardiner Museum and the internationally acclaimed contemporary art exhibition space The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery.

It is recognized as one of North America’s wealthiest cities as well as being considered one of the most diverse in the world. It is home to Canada’s highest income neighborhoods and boasts an engaged and supportive community of arts patrons and professionals.

Cultural amenities abound in this stunningly multicultural metropolis, which claims a population of just over 6 million, making it the fifth largest city and the fourth largest economic centre in all of North America.
