Stan Gorman is a fine artist whose professional art background extends more than thirty years, having been an art director, illustrator, conceptual artist, teacher, and art consultant.
Over the years Stan has done work for many Fortune 500 companies such as Mattel Toys, Disney, Nintendo, Litton, Toyota, Nissan, Continental Airlines, Aloha Airlines, Apple Computer Inc., Lotus Software, Lockheed Aircraft, Dow Chemicals, Globe Tires, Carnation Foods, Applause Inc., General Motors, and Disneyland. For the Jacques Cousteau Society, he designed a theme park to be built in Norfolk, Virginia, and for Marvel Productions, he was Storyboard Director for Spiderman and Dungeons and Dragons Saturday morning television shows. For ten years of his art career he entered the wild fantasy world of video game development and was employed as Creative Director for Virgin Interactive, which was considered one of the best video game developers in the industry, and established an art department consisting of 24 people. Stan has illustrated for almost every prestigious advertising agency and design firm in Los Angeles and won many awards for his illustrations. He Taught illustration for Santa Monica Community college, and was publicity chairman for the Los Angeles Society of Illustrators. Mr. Gorman received an academic scholarship to the Maryland Institute College of Art where he earned a BFA degree. He has also completed various post-graduate classes at Art Center College of Design, the University of California at Los Angeles, and Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he established a name for himself as an illustrator and animator. Now Stan is establishing himself as a fine artist. |
