The band was formed in 1998, with the original name "Disgruntled Employees" and the four original members: James Weston-vocals, Kyle Wyer-Guitar, Jeff Edwards-Bass, and Darcy Fletcher-Drums.
The band played various clubs around Durham and Toronto and aqquired a second guitar player Ryan Hicks. In February of 2000 the band changed their name to "Switch96" and went into the studio to record a six song demo CD. After the CD was finished the two guitar players were replaced by Geoff Schultz and Aaron Fletcher, they also aquired a second singer, Keith Yaskovich, and the name was changed to "Blank Shift". Since then the band has been playing more and more shows. In July 2001 group recorded their first full length CD. |
