Among various of Arnold's highlights, he accompanied The Yardbirds during their entire October 2003 tour. And he has played festivals with Alvin Lee and Joe Cocker. For his earlier work, he also received national recognition in Germany for CD production of the year in 2002.
With his new band, the Buffalo Fish, he is continuing to bring Germany authentic American-influenced music of a sort seldom found in Europe. Reminiscent of acts like the Eels or The Dave Matthews band, they make timeless rock, played solidly, with lots of rhythmic variation. It's fun music. It's thoughtful music. And its the kind of music that doesn't wear old easily. The Buffalo Fish are Darrell Arnold (vocals and guitar), Klaus Marner (drums), Deddi Köhne (bass) and Constantin Petrescu (guitar, keyboards, violin). The other band members are veteran musicians from the European music scenery, each with hundreds or even thousands of concerts under his belt. At the service of Arnold's compositions, the band's versatile talents result in diverse, rockin' melodic songs. This is a live act not to be missed. All of the songs listed here are written by Darrell Arnold and arranged together with the band. Band Members Darrell Arnold - Darrell grew up in Nebraska and lived in Louisville, Kentucky, St. Louis, Missouri, Houston, Texas and numerous other places in the U.S. before coming to Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall. He holds a doctorate in philosophy. And his songs blend his experience from the Midwest, from Europe, and from his diverse cultural settings. Lyrically, you might find influence from sources as diverse as Leonard Cohen, Jackson Browne, Hegel, T.S. Eliot and Rimbaud. Deddi Köhne - Deddi is a versed live and studio musician, having done work for WDR radio in Germany and musical productions like Cats. He was earlier a member of the Schroeder Road Show and Starlight Express. He plays exclusively WAL basses. Klaus Marner - Klaus, having done studio work with well-known German musicians, like members of the Wolf Maahn band, Zeltinger and members of LSE, and having acquired loads of experience playing in diverse live bands, is considered one of Cologne's most versatile and interesting drummers. Constantin Petrescu - Constantin Petrescu is an amazingly talented multi-instrumentalist, who masters violin, guitar and keyboards. Born in Romania, Constantin is a household name there under his artist name, Bujaverca. His band, Odeon, was one of Romania's best known acts before he left there in the early nineties./ |
