Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, listed in the ERPAC (Regional Agency for Cultural Heritage of Friuli Venezia Giulia).
I was born on February 24, 1958 in Leominster (MASS. - USA). After my first experiences in the graphic-pictorial sector (1975-1986), in the nineties I embraced digital photography. In 1991, with the patronage of the Municipality of Gorizia, I created an artistic review of various regional artists. In 1994 I created the "Photomorfosi": a series of computerized photographic images. In 1995, in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Gorizia, I created the international art review "EurArt" which will last until 2007. In 1996 I was contacted by the national magazine Progresso fotografico and in the October issue the first Photomorfosi were published. In January and February 1997 I was published in Applicando, the first national magazine for Macintosh computers and the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana (Slo) invited me to give a lecture on Photomorfosi. Thanks to the Know How acquired in digital experimentation, in September of the same year I was invited as a speaker at the 17th FIAF Regional Congress. AGFA Italia dedicated me in May 1999, in its historic gallery in via Grosio in Milan, a personal exhibition entitled: "Digital Photomorfosi - Metamorfosi della fotografia Tradizionale". From the monthly Computer Arts: "The art of Photomorfosi. Discovering this original art form created by Paul Redfern - Paul Redfern is certainly one of the most active artists in the field of digital graphics...According to Agfa, which publishes an important series of Photomorfosi images, some examples of which we see on this same page, these works deserve a place in the history of photography." In October 2007 my video "The earth" won the "We Show Award" as best online artistic video. The Photomorfosi are now part of private and public collections such as, for example, the Biblioteca Statale Isontina, Satel Group, the "National Museum of Contemporary Art of Rijeka (Croatia), the MOCA Virtual Museum of the State of New York. I participate, by invitation, in various international workshops such as the International Internet Days, Pixel Point International, etc. Together with the director Franco Giraldi and the film critic Mario Verdone, I attended, as a speaker, the Video Film Festival Under 20 of Gorizia. Furthermore, the entire chapter VII of the thesis of the Master's Degree in DAMS of the University of Udine, academic year 2010/2011, was dedicated to my artistic project Photomorfosi.
